Guitar Lessons and Fusion Music
|
One of the main goals of John's guitar lessons is to mentor, research and create root concepts for a new type of world music, leading to a more tolerant, less violent and higher consciousness based human race. By using fusion music as a medium for Cultural Revolution, the mind broadens with the emotions linked closer to the heart. A simple example is the Black-White Crossover Music which dominates the Western World. Through blues and rock based bands the races have slowly accepted each others existence with more depth of understanding. Although blues is strictly rooted in Afro-American expression, there are many different types of 'blues'. Country and Rock is thought of as the white working class blues music. The Sitar expresses the 'blues' of India. The Flamenco is 'Spanish Blues'. The Bouzouki offers the emotion of 'Greek Blues' etc... The 20th Century Music movement was one of the greatest in terms of Music Fusion. John has studied 3 main musical eras namely, Byzantine Music obviously originating in ancient times and embodying Ethnic, Microtonal Styles like Indian, Oriental, Arab and Chinese. Secondly European Classical Music with its famous composers, Bach, Beethoven and Mozart. European Classical Composition was the biggest Tonal Harmonic Documentation ever in our music history. Thirdly, American Music also now known as New World Music producing more improvisation in its composition in styles like Blues, Jazz, Rock'n'Roll, Country, R&B, Funk etc.. Jazz-Rock Fusion Styles are in fact the least commercial in market terms but are on the frontier in terms of musical knowledge and performing techniques! World music means different things to different people. Music is the language of the emotions and so transmitted in the form of emotional telepathy.... where words cease to be of useful expression, music takes over! The Egyptians used sound for healing! I wonder why? |
